How we started

DO YOUR DREAM…..

Hello….and welcome to the Hot Bread Shoppe Website!

In January 2018 I decided, because I was going to be turning 60 in 2019, that I wanted to do that thing in my life that I knew I would regret if I didn’t do it. And opening a bakery was something that I had dreamed about for over 40 years!

It’s funny, though, how many things can get in the way of actually DOING what you dream of doing! I don’t have any money, I don’t have any experience, I don’t have enough time, what will people think, what if I don’t get any customers, what if I fail, what if what if what if!!!

With some coaching help I was able to recognize that success is in the trying…the doing, the going for it, believing I can do it, that I am capable, and that in the process of doing, I grow. And that’s what it’s all about. I can’t fail as long as I am trying. And if something doesn’t work along the way, I will figure it out!

Hot Bread Shoppe opened on November 27th, 2018, and it is everything I dreamed it would be, right down to the heavenly smell of fresh bread & cinnamon buns that greet you when you walk in the door!
Our ingredients are high quality, fresh, organic and local if possible, and our baked goods are made by hand with care. We also make vegan breads and baked goods and I see us making more and more in the future!
Our packaging is environmentally friendly, and I am super proud that we started composting in 2019, and have eliminated almost ALL garbage!

Today, after being closed for 2 months due to the pandemic, we are excited about re-opening in June 2020 with a new website and new ways to move forward! We are blessed and grateful to be so supported by our community and our wonderful customers….(and me for my amazing partner)…thank you, thank you, thank you! We can’t wait to see you, and if you are a new customer…we can’t wait to meet you!
